Vachel Samuels is a Lynwood High School graduate and Compton, California native. At Lynwood, Samuels earned a three-star rating, was an All-Region selection and was an All-San Gabriel Valley League choice, among numerous other achievements.

At UC Berkeley, Vachel Samuels was redshirted as a freshman to build his abilities to the college level. Unfortunately, Samuels had a season-ending injury in training camp before he got the chance to prove himself. For the 2011 Pac-12 football season, Vachel Samuels is determined to turn his luck around and show his fellow teammates he has what it takes to call himself a Golden Bear football player.
