Steven Fanua came into the 2009 Cal Bear’s football season as the nation’s No 41 freshman linebacker and, although he was red shirted, was the team’s Scout Team Player of the year on defense. In the following season, Steven Fanua played in four games and continued to work on his defensive skills with the Cal Bear’s football team.

At his Milpitas HS in California, Steven Fanua was ranked as a three-star recruit by Rivals and Scout as well as the nation’s No. 8 outside linebacker by Tom Lemming’s recruiting service. Fanua also earned All-Region accolades, De Anza League Defensive Player of the Year honors two years in a row and was a three-time three-time All-Central Coast Section choice. With so many honors and achievements under his belt, Steven Fanua was a highly touted pick by recruiters across the nation. Since Steven Fanua was named the San Francisco 49ers HS Player of the Week in 2008, don’t be surprised if he makes it to the NFL someday.
