Sean Young was born on December 23, 1984 and grew up right in Berkeley. He graduated from Berkeley High School and seemed destined to attend the University of California-Berkeley someday.

In high school, Sean Young caught 19 passes for 443 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Sean Young redshirted in 2003, did not play in 2004, missed several games in 2005 while recovering from toe surgery, played in 6 games in 2006 with 2 completed passes.

In 2007, Sean Young battled more injury and saw action in 3 games. He petitioned the NCAA Board to be allowed to play for a 6th year and was granted his request. He will be back for his final year with the California Bears football team this fall.
