Nick Sundberg was born on July 29, 1987 and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from North Canyon High School in 2005 where he was a track athlete, wrestler, and football captain.

As a true freshman in fall 2005, Nick Sundberg was known to be a reliable snapper. He saw some playing time and built up rapport with the coaches. In 2006, Nick Sundberg was the primarily long snapper and played in all 13 games. In the 2007 season, Nick Sundberg played (almost) flawlessly. He made 128-of-129 snaps, missing only one in rainy, cold conditions.
