More Info
Austin Hinder is back for the 2011 Pac-12 football season as a quarterback for the Cal Bears football team. In 2010, Hinder redshirted in order to reach his full potential on the offensive line.
As the grandson of legendary Cal Athletic Hall of Famer and long-time NFL coach (St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons) Jim Hanifan, it was no surprise when Austin Hinder showed immense talent on the football field. After his four year high school football career, Hinder was ranked as a five-star Tom Lemming recruit as well as the No. 5 “pro-style” quarterbacks in the nation. Hinder also received four stars from ESPN and the No. 10 quarterback spot in the nation by PrepStar, among many other achievements.
As the 2009 Gatorade Colorado Player of the Year and MaxPreps Class 3A Player of the Year, the Cal Golden Bears coaches were pumped to bring Austin Hinder onto their squad.
