Team Member Information
Andy Ludwig has changed teams and will now be coaching at San Diego State.
In February 2009, the Cal Bears football team welcomed aboard Andy Ludwig, a nationally known offensive coordinator with 20 years of collegiate coaching to his name. Out of those years, Andy Ludwig has brought various teams to bowl games and tournaments 10 times. Clearly, Coach Ludwig's skills could help the Cal Bears as they gear up for their 2009 season.
Any coach lacks credibility unless they have experience playing. Andy Ludwig fulfills this "requirement". As a wide receiver, he played for one year at Snow College. He spent the next three years at Portland State in the mid-1980s and the team rewarded his hard work with two varsity letters.
A coaching stint in the NFL followed when Andy Ludwig used his collegiate experience to work with the Minnesota Vikings' as a wide receiver coach.
But college football called Coach Ludwig back to the fold. The college football teams he spent time with include Utah (2005-2008), Oregon (2002-2004), Fresno State (1998-2001) Cal Poly (1997), Boise State (1995-1996) Augustana (1993-1994)Utah (1992), Idaho State (1989-1991) and Portland State (1987-88).
Now as a member of the Cal Bears, Andy Ludwig will bring his strategic planning and dedicated spirit. How long will he stay? Maybe the Cal Bears will need his skills at this particular juncture for just a year...or perhaps he'll be a great fit to grow a team for the future. Either way, Coach Ludwig's expertise has people excited to see what will happen with the Cal Bears offensive line. To get in on the talk, purchase your Cal Bears tickets today!
